This policy explains what KSF NMEA Sniffer stores locally and what is sent only if you choose feedback or update/download features.

Summary

KSF NMEA Sniffer is free software. It does not sell personal data, does not include advertising, and does not use third-party ad tracking. Diagnostic data stays on your Mac unless you choose to export logs or send feedback.

Local App Data

  • The app stores serial input settings, LAN/WLAN TCP/UDP adapter settings, adapter-learning profiles, Signal K server addresses, filters, PGN rules, user PGN JSON definitions, app settings, runtime logs, capture logs, and optional NMEA0183 blackbox logs locally on your Mac.
  • Capture and blackbox logs can include NMEA2000/CAN payloads, NMEA0183 sentences, AIS sentences, instrument values, Signal K paths, and vessel/navigation data from your own boat network.
  • User PGN definitions, adapter profiles, and capture files are controlled by you.

Network Data

  • Signal K input is read-only over WLAN/LAN. The app does not publish, PUT, POST, or transmit to the Signal K server.
  • TCP/UDP NMEA adapter input is read-only from the app side.
  • The app does not transmit CAN/NMEA2000/NMEA0183 data to SailingKSF by default.
  • The download page can record basic view/download events and normal web-server logs for security and operational statistics.

Feedback And Attachments

  • If you use Send Feedback / Bug Report, the app sends your name, email address, title, message, app version, platform details, and optional attachment to SailingKSF.
  • Attachments are optional and may include screenshots, PDF/TXT/LOG/JSON support files, or similar diagnostic material that you choose.
  • Do not attach private logs or boat-network captures unless they are needed for support.

Your Choices

  • You can use the app without Signal K.
  • You can keep capture logging off.
  • You choose when to export, print, back up, or attach files to feedback.
  • You can delete local app data, PGN JSON definitions, and capture logs from your Mac.
